Mission Statement
La Leche League’s mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother. La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organisation dedicated to helping women who want to breastfeed. If you are a mother or are going to become a mother who wants to breastfeed, whatever situation you find yourself in, we are prepared to support you. The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is one of the many books we have in our library, which members are free to borrow from, at no extra cost. It is of course also available to buy from the LLL GB Bookshop, if you prefer to keep your own copy (for many of us it’s a real treasure!) or if you want to buy one for a friend. |
